Ways the Government is Trying to Encourage Economic GrowthOne major discussion on improving on economic growth are the average oil prices. As of 2015, prices for oil have severely decreased by over $100 (70%) in the past year. The government has planned to increase the average oil prices to around $60 this year to increase growth. Analysts believe that if the oil prices increase through the year, the economy will gradually recover to a 1.7% expansion. Another implementation is that structural reforms are planned for the 2016-17 budget proposal and a growth of about 2.4% in late 2016. Although Russia is facing one of its worst economic periods in history, they are very optimistic and have come up with plans to expand the economy and country.
